Originally joining the team as an intern in 2006, Lorraine has served in her current role as OWL’s dedicated Vocational Evaluator since 2012. Over the years, Lorraine has helped over 900 people uncover their potential!

Helping people find a career path is the goal, but Lorraine’s true impact often lies in giving them the confidence to walk it.
When someone is referred to OWL by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), they’re often at a crossroads, unsure about what kind of work they want—or even believe they’re capable of doing. That’s where Lorraine comes in.
“Sometimes people walk out of here with a lot more hope than they came in with,” she shares.
An evaluation with Lorraine is an in-depth, customized process for the purpose of identifying a suitable career or education path. She guides individuals through a series of assessments that examine skills, preferences, career interests, mental health, and academic aptitudes. “It’s not about checking boxes or labeling people,” she explains. “It’s about helping them find their own best path.”
Each evaluation lasts around four hours and requires additional work from Lorraine behind the scenes, preparing the report and recommendations.

We are fortunate to have someone of Lorraine’s caliber of specialty experience at OWL. Further dedicated to serving our jobseekers, she achieved a major accomplishment in 2017 by becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.

Lorraine’s evaluations are often the starting point for those beginning vocational rehabilitation, empowering jobseekers to pursue their goals with purpose and clarity, and embodying OWL’s mission.
